Physics: Is it possible to land back into a roller coaster after falling up from inertia?

So if I person was in a roller coaster and was not wearing their seat belt restraint inertia would cause them to fall upward. Is it possible to land back into the roller coaster when he or she falls back down? Any links explaining this?

  1. Tricky question... I'm trying to think about different types of rollercoaster. If you are in one in which you are sitting down, your legs are going to be bent and so you would have to be chucked out at an angle, and you wouldn't be able to get back in under these conditions. If the ride was a kind of standing up ride and the safety latch over your chest came off and you began to fall it is possible that the ride could pick you up again if it took a turn or did a loop and end up being underneath where you were at a distance along. If you only leave the seat a tiny bit then you might not be chucked out. Also if you were on your toes in the first case you might be able to get back in if you got thrown up - it would be quite some luck though!
