inertia?????

ok what are some physical exaples of inertia?? like taking a dime and an index card and a cup. then u turn the cup upside down and place the index card on the cup. after that place the dime on the index card. the pull hard! it will land on the cup!!! so can u think of an example of inertia? 22 points for the example

  1. Inertia is a physical property which resists motion. Higher the inertia, higher the force required to set the body in motion. A body with greater mass is difficult to set in motion compared to a body with smaller mass. So a body with high mass has higher inertia. In this example of index card and dime: The dime is made of metal and has high mass and thus has high inertia. So it is difficult to set it in motion very quickly. So when you pull the index card quickly, there is not enough time to impart the motion of index card to this high inertia of dime. So the dime just stays there and falls into the cup.
