Because we're living in global market. the world is smaller than we think. One theory does not fit all anymore.
I don't think the emphasis is so much on "cross-cultural management theories" as it is on being adept at handling different kinds of people and the types of issues (or problems) that may present themselves. For instance, everyone's work ethic is not the same, regardless of their ethnicity or value system. Some individuals simply will not pull their share of the load, will constantly be late or call in at the most inopportune times.
